525,600 Minutes. It’s my Bloggiversary Golden Birthday! (And a Giveaway!)

I woke up at 5:30 this morning. On 5/30. My 30th birthday. My golden birthday. And my bloggiversary. Almost 530,000 minutes of my life have happened in the lifetime of this blog. And that’s pretty darn awesome.

I could list the amazing things and people that have been a part of my life over the course of the last year since my first official blog post. To call it a journey seems silly, but that is exactly what I’ve had. A journey. Personally. Professionally. Emotionally. Physically. I have walked a thousand miles in my own shoes, and I have a year of blogging/reflecting to prove it. And I’m not done yet.

Because of YOU though, it’s been a very unique journey. One that only a blogger would understand. I’ve made friends around the world. I’ve shared personal stories. I’ve become a better writer because I read your writing. And you inspire me.

So today, I’m asking that when you comment on the blog, you share your own work. If you’re not a blogger or an artist, tell me something about yourself. And in return, as a glorious reward, we’ll have not one, but TWO giveaways. (And the Amazon Surprise Giveaway & Zazzle Giveaway are still open for your commenting–All of this week’s giveaways will run until Monday, June 3).

A SLOTH necklace I received for my birthday! Our lovely friend Ava found this little guy on the interwebs from Mark Poulin, so I had to share his site with you.

  1. Katie's Dad says:

You are reading a post from the self proclaimed King of Geeks. I have personally read more Cisco routing guides, manuals, handbooks, and workbooks than most of the writers of same! After not even looking at a router setup in over 2 years I can still (in my mind of course) detail a process for writing subnet permission lists. Not real exciting but real nerdy!

  2. Katie's Dad says:

    I ALMOST forgot! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

  3. Happy Birthday! Hurray for blogs and geeks and not having a total melt-down over turning 30 (which I totally did a few months ago). <3

  4. JoulesDellinger says:

Happy Birthday Chrissy! So glad I “met” you through my blog and also Katie and I can’t wait to meet you in a couple months. HUGS!

  5. So. I met you when we were both barely 18. Now we’re 30. It’s been quite a ride, my friend. I measure a year in… Chrissys. That could be considered a unit of measure, right? Happy Golden Birthday, Jelly Bean. (Your package went in the mail Tuesday, so… It will be fashionably late… To extend the celebration, of course.)

  6. Katie said that we should come make fun of you for being old since she can’t. So… “Ha!” There, that should suffice. (And we’ll just ignore the fact that I’ll be 30 myself in nine days.)

  7. Happy Birthday!! Turning 30 is awesome ( I did it 5 years ago and have loved my thirties ever since)! Enjoy your bday!!

  8. As Joe Pesci would probably say “Happy Freakin’ Birthday” πŸ˜‰ As a blogette you’re doing a stupendous job. Have you thought about attending the Blogher conference coming up in NYC or somewhere? You could meet Martha Stewart and (gasp!) Katie Couric.

  9. Awww congratulations, happy birthday and I measure a year in pounds gained, friends gained (and lost) and experiences learned from. I adore you and cheers to this being your best year yet! xx

  10. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and thanks for getting a Rent song stuck in my head πŸ˜‰ Keep on bloggin’

  11. Happy Birthday! I’ve always wanted a sonic screw driver XD that’s so cool! XD

    \_/ \_/ cheers!

  12. I think this qualifies me as a geek. For my 40th birthday, I asked my husband for (and received) the Aerosmith version of Guitar Hero … special edition guitar controller included. Before the Guitar Hero franchise “retired”, we managed to go through 6 guitars. When we rock, we rock hard. BTW, Happy Belated Birthday!

  13. If I had my way, I would buy everything on ThinkGeek. $25 will aid in my quest.
